The "Original Bad Ass" blasted his way onto the wrestling scene as part of the OWO in early 2000, with a blistering Strap match against "Red Hot" Rob Taylor. Deviant was known for his treasured Harley, his trusty strap, "Betsy" and severe mental imbalance. Deviant's early career saw him form "The Commonwealth Wrecking Crew" with Taylor, Robbie Douglas and The Canadian Lumberjack. Success immediatey followed with "Big Daddy D" and "The 'Jack" capturing the OWO Tag Team belts. In fact the Crew controlled the gold through much of 2000 with Taylor's World and Douglas's North American title reigns. The group florished due to cohesiveness and unmatched skill in producing entertaining "skits". Deviant also found success in the Hardcore division, lifting gold there before tackling Logan Brock's North American title. Around this time, mistrust had developed amongst the Crew, culminating in a violent split and what many consider still the best Last Man Standing match in history, pitting New NA champ Deviant against former friend Rob Taylor. After 30 minutes of pure ultraviolence, Taylor emerged as the victor, but Deviant had proved his stock was rising and was on the verge of making a Grand Slam run when the OWO suspended operations.

Deviant made a shock return during the ECWC's inaugaural "Real Rumble", costing Taylor the title many felt he was sure to win, a brief feud followed between the two before Robbie Douglas's shock return. Many speculated on a Crew reunion, however Douglas's tragic death cut those plans, it did re-unite the former friends and, following Taylor's ECWC world title win at Civil War they formed a new alliance with Final Gladiator and Sean Wright, becoming "The Franchise".

Since Taylor's injury and enforced retirement, Deviant has focused on winning the big one, the ECWC World title, observers feel it is simply a matter of time till "Big D" rules the road!
